2025 Luminary Procession!

Luminary Procession Route

Costuming

It's so very pretty if we all wear white, so I'm hoping everyone can assemble a white outfit. You can wear a skirt, pants, long sleeve shirt, tank top, full belly dance costume - whatever floats your boat, as long as it's in white. If you need help with costuming, I have a few extra white skirts and tops, and hip scarves. Please let me know if you’d like to borrow items from me.

Because this is an event that happens at night, jazz things up by wearing something that glows, like LED fairy lights for example. Some of us have light-up headbands or crowns, and glow sticks work great, too. Lights can be white or multi-color.

I have some light up "isis wings" that people can borrow but it's good if we keep those to a minimum since they are a little unwieldy and block other dancers.

For your feet, please wear comfortable shoes that you can walk in. White or sparkly is great, but not required - please just be comfortable and protect those footsies!

Practices

Please plan to practice on our regular class nights at The Olympia Center:

  • April 7 from 7-7:20 pm

  • April 14 from 7-7:20 pm

  • April 21 from 7 to 8 pm

The choreography is posted below!

Night of Luminary Procession

The Luminary Procession takes place Friday, April 25. Please meet in the upstairs of The Olympia Center at 7 pm and we will walk together to the starting point. The procession starts around 8:30/9 pm in Downtown Olympia and takes about an hour.

You will want to pare down what you carry to the bare minimum or hand off your purse/keys/etc. to a friend or family member who can hold your things while you’re in the Procession. We cannot leave items at the The Olympia Center.

Please feel free to email or call/text me at 206-351-4740 if you have questions in the meantime.

Yay! This is going to be so fun, and what a wonderful, rewarding weekend. Can’t wait!
